Clay Maier, tandem riding specialist, takes the reins during the two-day HorseFest. Watch as Clay rides one horse while he drives one or two horses
in the front through a series of intricate moves.

Discover the magical beauty of horses and discover many different breeds, riding disciplines and uses for these versatile animals

This year’s featured presenter is Clay Maier, known for his Friesian Spectacular performance of tandem riding.

Meet Lake Metroparks own Friesian horse, Thiadrik, the newest member to Farmpark’s equine family.

Clay Maier

Clay Maier - Tandem riding specialistKnown in the horse world for The Friesian Spectacular,
Clay Maier trains performance horses and teaches clinics on long reining and carriage driving. 

During one of Clay’s six sessions, he will focus on training Farmpark’s newest edition, a three-year old Friesian gelding.

Janet Tenney presents the art of dressage on her beautiful Spanish Lusitano. 
Dressage is the method of training a horse in obedience and in precision of movement.  

David Davis will present unique equine training techniques.

Equine presentations and exhibits

Hoofbeats through History showcases costumed horses representing different time periods which the horse has been used.  Multiple breeds participate in various activities that demonstrate the splendor and versatility of the horse throughout history.  Some time periods represented include medieval, colonial, and Victorian, up through modern day.

Take I-90 to the Rt. 306 exit. Head south on Route 306 five miles to Chardon Road (Route 6), turn left on Route 6, and head east one mile. Entrance to Farmpark is on the right.
