Veterans Park

Notice: The City of Mentor will begin resurfacing work on Hopkins Road between Lake Shore Boulevard and Plains Road beginning October 10. The entrance to Veterans Park will remain open, but visitors should expect delays. Please check back for updates.

The park offers four accessible fishing piers, a 1.78-mile loop trail through native wetlands with 830 feet of boardwalk and a wetland/wildlife viewing area. The property was purchased from the Granger family by the City of Mentor in 1970 and was Mentor’s first neighborhood park. Granger Pond is generally stocked with catfish, bass, bluegill and rainbow trout. Anglers are each welcome to keep a maximum of five trout per day, no size limit. A valid Ohio fishing license is required to fish at Veterans Park.
