Programs are designed to fit the needs of people with physical, sensory or developmental disabilities.
Adapted programs are specifically designed for individuals with disabilities. Early registration is encouraged to meet minimum enrollment requirements. Lake Metroparks encourages people with disabilities to mainstream into any of our program offerings. People who are deaf or hard of hearing are encouraged to use the Ohio Relay Service at 1-800-750-0750.
Special Olympics sports offered by Lake Metroparks include basketball, track & field, volleyball, bocce ball, golf, bowling and a Nordic skiing program. With the continuing support of our community, our Special Olympics programs can improve services, accomplish goals, extend opportunities to eligible individuals and continue to provide leisure opportunities that enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Lake Metroparks’ Outdoor Education Department strives to include participants with disabilities in our programs and special events, and we need your help. All that is required is a small time commitment, patience and lots of enthusiasm. For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 440-585-3041 x6418.
Lake Metroparks’ adapted programming provides high-quality recreational activities designed to meet the needs and interests of individuals with disabilities in specialized environments.
