Building and Grounds Manager

Rate: Pay Grade: D ($19.6892 hr./$40,953 annual to $30.9400 hr./$64,355 annual – minimum starting salary based on prior experience and education) Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Brief Description:  Under the supervision of the Regional Buildings and Grounds Manager, will perform building and grounds maintenance to assure the public’s safety and maintain the overall condition of the parks, buildings, grounds, and natural areas. Duties include performing daily maintenance activities, special event, facility rental and program set-up and take-down including electrical and plumbing, and in-house construction and repair projects.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of grounds maintenance, landscaping, building maintenance and mechanical techniques and skills.
• Ability to operate all types of equipment, including power tools, heavy equipment, and knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
• Must have the ability to perform various types of manual labor and the ability to lift to 75 lbs.
• Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance specialty areas: carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, and electrical.
• Ability to supervise others on tasks and setting priorities.
• In-depth individual and team leadership skills.
• Knowledge of all related safety regulations.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must have valid drivers’ license with good record to be insurable by Lake Metroparks auto insurance. Background check required.
