Annual 8.5-mile Grand River race from Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark to Hidden Valley Park. Awards to top three finishers in each race category (determined by skill level and boat type). Wear a fun, crazy hat while you race! All racers receive a t-shirt and a finisher’s medal.

As part of Lake County’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, this year’s race will commemorate important events in American history: The Battles of Lexington & Concord and Paul Revere & the Riders Midnight Ride, which took place on April 18-19, 1775.

Are you mad? (All racers qualify!) Design a hat (or some sort of river-worthy headgear) and wear it April 19. The “maddest hat” wins a prize! The more creative, the better— just go crazy! Hats must be worn during the race and fit under bridges (clearance approx. 140 ft.).
