A new park layout is planned to make Painesville Township Park a pedestrian-friendly, multi-activity destination. The design removes the drive in front of the Community Center and creates a larger parking area behind the building. Pedestrian walkways, Lake Erie viewing areas, picnic space, a playground, patio space, and open areas for gathering will allow visitors to enjoy the beautiful location. Phase one of park construction began earlier this year.
Also within the next year, it is anticipated that a new section of trail along the Lake Erie shoreline will be open to the public adjacent to Painesville Township Park. Lake Metroparks expects to begin construction on 2,300 feet of multi-use path extending west from Painesville Township Park this year.
